Mimecast announces senior appointments

Unified email management provider Mimecast this week announced the appointment of a Development Director and a Senior Vice President of Business Development.

The appointments come as Mimecast plans to double its investment in research and development and continue expanding its worldwide operations.

Mark Hermeling, appointed as Development Director, joins Mimecast from Accenture’s financial services division.

With 14 years experience of software development, he will take responsibility for leading Mimecast’s R&D teams to advance its SaaS-based email services.

Mark Reeves, Mimecast’s new Senior Vice President of Business Development, joins the firm from interactive classrooms provider Promethean.

Reeves has more than 20 years experience in direct and indirect sales in the software and security marketplace, and will use to to accelerate Mimecast’s international growth.

Neil Murray, Mimecast’s chief technology officer, commented: “With Hermeling’s proven track record in innovation and Reeves’ experience in maximising international sales, we will be able to deliver the benefits of unified email management to more markets in a shorter timeframe.”

In the last 18 months, Mimecast has expanded into the US, the United Arab Emirates, and the Nordic region, tripling its global employee base.
